Adult Leisure is an exciting new group from Bristol who promise to contribute a dreamy, ballad-driven approach to the alt-indie scene with their polished debut album, ‘The Things You Don’t Know Yet’. Having listened to and enjoyed their singles, I decided to head down to Kazimier Stockroom on the 8th November, the final pit stop on their UK tour. Locating the Kazimier Stockroom is not unlike attempting to navigate a speakeasy: Initially, you wander into a bustling outdoor bar, complete with live DJ, and wonder if you’ve walked through the wrong door; turn a corner, and you may mistakenly stumble

Don’t be fooled by its title: ‘Frogfest’ is not a show of short-bodied amphibians, nor is it merely an appreciation for the species. In fact, it’s an all-day alternative music festival which promises versatility, talent and, best of all: an overwhelming feel for the gothic. I couldn’t wait to attend. Whilst admittedly still in its budding stages, my debut visit to this year’s edition proved it has already carved a solid identity for itself as one of the standout live events on offer in Liverpool. Frogfest 2025 consisted of a carefully curated lineup of 11 groups and artists over the

Caitlyn Eve’s distinct taste for the emulsion of folk, rock and indie all in the space of a 3-4 minute song is showcased once again by the release of her latest single, ‘Runaway’. Her potential for writing immersive and memorable songs has already been exhibited on her previous releases; especially in her debut spotify single, ‘Scarlet’, which built a lush and dreamlike sonic atmosphere to fit an emotionally raw love song. Now, with her new release ‘Runaway’, Caitlyn invites us into an imaginative lyrical space within the musical realms of folk-pop nostalgia. Described by herself as a ‘catchy toxic love

This August, Moonfrog brings you FROGFEST- a unique 12 hour deep dive into some of the most boundary-pushing artists and sounds emerging from Liverpool and across Europe. Located in the District, a powerhouse for all things alternative, Frogfest is a festival which promises to morph this renowned venue into an epicentre for underground music. Its electrifying line-up features groundbreaking artists, such as the highly acclaimed Belgian darkwave group ULTRA SUNN and Belarus’ brooding synth pop trio, Dlina Volny. The local Liverpudlian trailblazers, Grimm Sister, will also be performing, alongside steadfast Mancunian alt-rock group The Empty Page. By merging Liverpool’s alternative

You could say it’s been a long time coming… I’ve seen Preen live once before – they hosted their Spring Special at The George Tavern a couple of years ago. I knew I’d have to get tickets again if they ever ventured up north and, well, here we are. I get to The Jac for around 9:30, pushing open the old black door and heading down to the basement. It’s such a cool space, with its low ceilings and a small soundboard at the back that screams grassroots venue. The London-based quintet arrives about 15 minutes later, kicking off their

It’s a sunny Friday evening and I’m sat on a wall next to my Dad in the middle of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle. We’re waiting for doors, sitting just down the road from the one and only District. Tonight is all about Florist, an indie folk quartet from New York that fits right in with the likes of Big Thief and Phoebe Bridgers. As the clock strikes eight, we head inside. Grace Elizabeth Harvey makes her way onto stage. Florist’s support is a talented singer-songwriter with powerful vocals and a penchant for intricate guitar melodies. She’s just released her debut EP

It’s also where Melbourne folk singer-songwriter Ernest Aines has returned after a short period of four months, to a sold out show; in anticipation of his upcoming album, and following the release of his recently released single, “Just Once”. I arrived around ten minutes after the huge, ornate wooden doors opened and chose a pew to sit

I’m ashamed to admit that before this gig, I hadn’t heard of the four-piece Welsh punk band Panic Shack, and I can’t think of a time I’ve ever been so happy to be enlightened! Liverpool must have done something to get in the good books this week, because the city has been blessed with not one, but two performances from the band. I had the honour of attending the Thursday night performance at the Arts Club. Part of the group’s national tour, there’s certainly a lot to celebrate with the recent release of their fantastic single ‘Gok Wan’, and a
