This August, Moonfrog brings you FROGFEST- a unique 12 hour deep dive into some of the most boundary-pushing artists and sounds emerging from Liverpool and across Europe. Located in the District, a powerhouse for all things alternative, Frogfest is a festival which promises to morph this renowned venue into an epicentre for underground music.
Its electrifying line-up features groundbreaking artists, such as the highly acclaimed Belgian darkwave group ULTRA SUNN and Belarus’ brooding synth pop trio, Dlina Volny. The local Liverpudlian trailblazers, Grimm Sister, will also be performing, alongside steadfast Mancunian alt-rock group The Empty Page.
By merging Liverpool’s alternative heritage with Europe’s ever-expanding underground soundscape, the festival offers a unique chance to experience both aspects on full display.
While many of the performing acts find commonality in post-punk roots, Frogfest also brings together a dynamic mix of genres that define today’s growing underground scene: such as EBM, coldwave, synth-pop and industrial.
So, whether you’re a devoted coldwave enthusiast or just beginning to explore what the alternative scene has to offer, Frogfest is a standout live event to add to your summer bucket list.
